RAINBOW CAPTURED OVER WIMBLEDON VILLAGE BY PHOTOGRAPHER PATRICK STEEL

On Monday 12th May 2014 at 6.50 p.m I was lucky enough to capture a beautiful Rainbow arching over Wimbledon Village. It was a very special moment as I had been standing in the same position at the edge of Rushmere Pond for about two hours and I’d taken approximately two hundred pictures – none of which I was happy with. The sky greyed over and the light disappeared, so I left the Common disheartened and began to drive home. Heading along Southside the heavens opened and rain pelted down with unbelievable force. I decided to do one more lap of the Common and thank god I did, I couldn’t believe what I saw, it was beautiful. I ditched the car in Chester Road and ran like a madman. RAINBOW
